Ciao tutti!

Benvenuti…

I’m excited to share one of my greatest passions with you all, my love for Italian culture and lifestyle. I have traveled throughout Italy extensively, and am always itching for my return. Whether heading back to my favorite cities or venturing to a new destination, the Italian dolce vita keeps me coming back for more. I’ll be taking inspiration from my travels and experiences and sharing how everyone can integrate a little of the Italian lifestyle into the monotony of our every day. During quarantine, Italy is the place I miss the most and that’s why I’m excited to show how Joe, Marco & I are keeping the Italian spirit alive in our household.

Pictured is the real Via Benincasa, the street where I lived while studying abroad in Perugia. My roommate and “besto” Christina took this photo, and every time I look at it, I am reminded of that magical walk home, down my narrow, long, windy cobblestone road. Perugia, a city made up of stone (and chocolate!), was the perfect place to spend my four months as a college student abroad. The central location allowed me to travel throughout the north & south of Italy with ease and gave me the experience to plan my own trips, inspiring the city guides I’ve created and love to share with friends.

“Benincasa” means good house. On Via Benincasa, you’ll find recipes for drinks and meals that remind us of certain Italian cities, la moda Italiana (Italian style), cultural rituals and how we are ensuring Marco is exposed to his Italian heritage from an early age–basically, our own “benincasa.” Join me…la vita è bella.
